Hello again!

Thank you for sticking around.

My name is Akapo Ifedayo Ayobami. Telling stories is my super power. Photography is one of the many hats I wear. I write occasionally and I'm a videographer as well. As a creative, photography has tested me, my intellect and has helped to expand my horizon while also making me appreciate life in itself as an art form.

Photography has no rules, it is not a sport. It is the result which counts, no matter how it is achieved.”

– Bill Brandt

Welcome to my creative space.

From grass-roots

beginnings.

I mean I've seen a picture of me with a camera as early as 4 years old. It's nothing serious or out of the ordinary anyway. It was just the regular, " I think he'd look cute with a camera and voila! There's a picture of me with a camera.

I think, however, that the core memory of that laid the foundation for my love for photography. I started out with photography as an hobby as most photographers about 7 years ago. I must say its been a ride! I see my previous works and I'm elated at how far I've come.

My photography journey began in 2019 with me as a photographer for the Nigerian Christian Corper's Fellowship (NCCF) during my service year. I would later go on to become my church's main photographer after the compulsory three weeks orientation camp. I began to shoot portraits and celebrations. I captured what was beautiful, what was polished. I made people look good. But somewhere along the way, I wanted more. I wanted my photographs to be cemented in the history of time, beyond family frames and social media feeds. That realization birthed my documentary journey.

My work has evolved. Today, I exist at the intersection of art, advocacy, and anthropology. Through my lens I document health systems, emergency response, cultural heritage, and the quiet resolve that holds communities together. I’ve covered displaced persons camps, political campaigns, traditional festivals, and frontline humanitarian work. My images carry a singular conviction: every frame holds history.

I haven’t abandoned my roots. My lifestyle and portrait work (the weddings, birthdays, corporate events) taught me to read emotion in milliseconds. Documentary gives me depth. Lifestyle gives me range. Together, they give me voice.

Creating powerful imagery

for brands.

I've over time learnt to capture attention and convey messages with a click effectively. To me, it's all about evoking emotions and sparking up curiosity through my visuals. I've worked with various state and government parastatals, Profit and non-profit organizations, individuals both home and abroad.

What drives me to do more is seeing the barest minimum turn out to be a lifelong memory that transcends time.
